Reports and Exports

Risk data can be exported and imported in CSV format. Reports include a Risk Register Summary Report, a Detailed Risk Pathways Report and a graphical Detailed Risk Reduction Report showing risk before and after controls. Diagrams can also be exported as PDF or JPEG.

Common questions

Do I need to be a risk specialist to use BowTie Risk?

No. BowTie Risk is designed for anyone responsible for assessing risk — consultants, managers and team leaders as well as risk professionals. You can build an assessment as a list or as a diagram and switch between them at any time. You record risk events, causes, consequences and controls, rate them on a risk matrix and produce risk registers and reports.

Can I build an assessment without drawing a diagram?

Yes. Build the assessment in the list view and switch to the diagram at any time. Both views show the same assessment.

Can I use BowTie Risk on a Mac without Windows?

Yes. BowTie Risk is a Mac app, installed from the Mac App Store. It runs directly on your Mac, with no Windows installation or virtual machine.

Can I start on my Mac and continue on site?

Yes. Assessment files open on Mac, iPad and iPhone and work offline. Save them on device, iCloud, OneDrive or Google Drive.

Is BowTie Risk free to use?

Yes. BowTie Risk is free to download. The iPad and iPhone version includes two fully editable diagrams and the Mac version includes one. Premium removes the diagram limit and unlocks the full feature set.

Does BowTie Risk work offline?

Yes. BowTie Risk works offline on Mac, iPad and iPhone. Save files on your device, iCloud, OneDrive, Google Drive or your organisation's storage.

Which platforms does BowTie Risk support?

BowTie Risk is published as two App Store apps: BowTie Risk: Risk Analysis for Mac, and BowTie Risk: Risk Assessment for iPad and iPhone. Assessment files can be exchanged between supported devices.

Does one subscription cover Mac, iPad and iPhone?
